WHO ARE THE AAPI JAZZ COLLECTIVE?

The AAPI Jazz Collective is a diverse group of established AAPI (Asian American and Pacific Islander) identifying jazz musicians and artists. The ensemble specializes in performing classic repertoire from a wide array of Asian cultures; reimagining familiar folk and classic songs within a jazz context.

The ensemble celebrates and connects with their respective cultures through music and storytelling. Focused on both classic and new repertoire from various Asian countries, this ensemble introduces AAPI culture and talent to audiences who are unfamiliar with their culture.

Since its founding in 2018, the ensemble has been featured at The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Lunar New Year Celebration, the New York Asian Film Festival, the Asian American Federation, Passport to Taiwan, PSEG ASPIRE, Barclays, and even performed for Taiwan’s President Lai Ching-Te. Their debut album, Identity, was released on Origin Records in July 2025 and is available worldwide on all major streaming platforms.
